The New York Society for Ethical Culture is hosting Sunday Platform talk “Documenting Democracy” with director Anne de Mare at 11:00am followed by an afternoon screening of the film Capturing the Flag at 1:30pm. The film follows four friends who travel to Cumberland County, NC--posterchild for voter suppression in 2016--intent on proving that the big idea of American democracy can be defended by small acts of individual citizens.

After the viewing of the documentary, there will be a question-and-answer period with director Anne de Mare and producer Elizabeth Hemmerdinger.
